ANALYSIS OF THE SEMEN

PURPOSE

The complete analysis of the semen is fundamental to detect the existence of the altered masculine factor and its contribution to the couple's infertility.

METHOD

The Centre of Fertility carries out a complete analysis macro and microscopic of the sample of semen, analyzing the following things:

* Volume of the one ejaculation

* Liquefaction and pH

* Spermatic context

(number of sperms per milliliter of seminal fluid)

* Spermatic morphology

(size and form of sperms, Kruger's classification)

* Spermatic mobility

(Percentage of mobile sperms)

* Grade of progression of mobile sperms

(quality of progressive movement of sperms)

* Type and number non spermatic cells present in the semen

(i.e. white Globules, red globules, etc.)

TIME OF PROSECUTION

The procedure requires for its realization from 1 to 2 hours.

INFORMATION FOR THE PATIENT

Previous to the collection of the sample, it is recommended to have a sexual abstinence at least of 2 days and not more than 5 days.
